Suddenly Gainfully Employed

Yup.  I now work in a factory.  8 hours a day, five days a week.  It is, without a doubt, the most bored I have ever been and work.  I spent 8 hours today loading die casts weighing about 12 pounds into a trim pack machine, which shears the excess material.  While screaming air the entire time.

I don't like to look a gift horse in the mouth; one of the other temps that started today was starting off of two years after getting laid off, and was a week away from losing his unemployment.  But, mindless factory work ain't my bag.  But, I need to suffer through this shit for the next 90 days at least.  I need to find something worthwhile, something worth doing for money.  I hate letting money control my life.  But that's  what i'm doing.

I feel bad thinking this way.  Why can't I just be happy and content with what I have?

Unconformism, but depends on how you redirect this force, you'll be happy or pissed.

  3. If what you're doing isn't dangerous or requires constant concentration, you can do a lot of thinking or constructive day dreaming during your shift. Trust me.

  4. You have a right to be discontent - what you're doing is probably not related to your degree in English...but that's just my guess.

Teach kindergarteners English. Misguide the future generation.

  5. If you are happy and content with what you have, then that means you will never strive for more. This is why you always want more, to keep on going. Just stick with it for the time and when it's done you'll have more money to live on while looking for another job, so it won't be so hard. Until the money runs out that is.

  6. You should be mad! Having to work stupid jobs to survive should be a thing of the past! The smarter you are the harder it will be. Thats why people drink, it kills brain cells.

  7. I hope atleast you're unhappy in a "fuck this, I can do better" kind of way rather than a "is this all life has to offer?" kind of way.

And yeah, atleast you're making money. Hey save up and move to New Zealand with me!

  9. I think most people have jobs they hate. Factory work can be tough. I know some places where 12 hour shifts are mandatory
